Notice of Estray Sale and Estray List

The Clay County Sheriff's Office makes every attempt to locate the owner of lost, missing, or found livestock before the animal(s) are impounded and sold at auction.
Below you will find a list of currently impounded livestock and a notice of Estray Sale. The Clay County Sheriff's Office provides a service to register your livestock with the Sheriff's Office as a way to help us locate the rightful owner and notify them if their livestock is found on our public roadways or on someone else's property.
Please contact the Clay County Sheriff's Office if you are the owner or know the owner of an animal listed below. The owner of an animal may redeem this animal any time prior to sale, by providing the Sheriff's Office with an affidavit of ownership and paying all cost and fees associated with the impound of the animal.

Definition: An Estray Animal is an animal that is farm stock, that has strayed away from the farm. It is not an animal that is native to the area. Estray Laws do not apply to rescued, domesticated pets, such as cats, or dogs.
