CLAY COUNTY HISTORICAL COMMISSION

The Clay County Historical Commission consists of volunteer members appointed to two-year terms by the Clay County Commissioners Court. Members may be reappointed to an unlimited number of two-year terms. The CCHC is an arm of the Clay County government. Under the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 318, the county commissioners' court must appoint a county historical commission "to initiate and conduct programs suggested by the commissioner's court and the Texas Historical Commission for the preservation of the county's historical heritage.
